Board of Directors

Susan Church is the chair of the board. She is general manager of Blue Sky Economic Development Corporation. A former member of North Bay City Council, she has co-chaired the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination organizing committee for many years.

Joanne Bénard, superintendent of education for the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board, has also served on the International Day organizing committee for many years.

George Burton is the President of Canadore College, North Bay, Ontario.

Gary Gould, former CEO of The Canadian Centre for Social Justice and Communitas Canada, was the co-founder of Young People's Press. He is the co-founder of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination project and the Human Rights Hall of Fame.

Ainul Ahmed was born in Bangladesh, and is the president of the North Bay Muslim Association. He is actively working to create an "exemplary and unifying Islamic organization in Northern Ontario that contributes to the Muslim community and society at large. To provide a central meeting place by establishing of a Masjid to accommodate our core members, children and transient Muslims like students and short term visitors to North Bay".

Cathy Ellis is Director of Community Economic Development with Timmins Economic Development Corporation. She represents the northern part of our service area, from Kirkland Lake to Hearst.
