The Annual Evening of Applause event is held in conjunction with the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (March 21). This local event is a partnership between the North Bay & Local Immigration Partnership, North Bay & District Multicultural Centre, Conseil scolaire catholique Franco- Nord, Conseil scolaire public du nord-est, Nipissing–Parry Sound Catholic District School Board, Near North District School Board, Canadore College & Nipissing University.

On March 21, 2019 students were celebrated during this evening of awards, recognition & performance. Dr. Michael DeGagné was named to Nipissing District’s Human Rights Hall of Fame. Congratulations to all of the winners!
